My name is Dee, l’m a mum of seven children, a grandparent, and have juggled the demands of parenting, studying, and working. I’ve had the privilege of walking alongside people in the support care sector with a large range of diverse disabilities and challenges, learning that every journey is unique and deserves to be honoured.
Life in our home was often chaotic, seven children, all with different needs, personalities and rhythms. Some of my children are neurodivergent, some are neurotypical with strong neurodivergent traits, and all have taught me how beautifully complex life can be when you’re trying to make it flow.
That’s really where this all began, I wanted to support ASD families on their journeys, not knowing where to start, and with guidance, Be Free with Dee was born. These books were created out of lived experience, the real kind that is messy, exhausting and full of love. They’ve been shaped though my many years working in age care, disability, family support, and through the heart of someone who knows how it feels to be stretched too thin, living in complete chaos, and complete overwhelm.
Originally developed for ASD families, these tools have grown into a broad range of creative, practical resources to support anyone looking for organisation, flow, and independence, with more resources on the way. Especially supportive for those navigating mental health challenges, acquired brain injury, early onset dementia, care givers, anyone who needs extra support.
These pages were designed to bring in awareness, structure, confidence, self-management and increasing independence into everyday life. Whether it’s understanding someone’s needs, or creating routines that work, these resources bring calm and direction back into the day.
I often say there is nothing wrong with organised chaos, as long as there’s flow within it. That’s what this space is all about: to support you in discovering your unique rhythm and inner calm, foster greater independence and confidence, bringing in more ease in the everyday, and doing it your way.
I hope you find something here that inspires you, supports you, or simply reminds you that you’re doing your best. Welcome to my space, where structure meets the soul, and where the chaos learns to flow.
With much love, understanding and gratitude,
Dee x
